Insurance:-The Michigan Office of the Automobile and Home Insurance Consumer Advocate will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, November 12, 2008 in Bay City. The meeting will be held from 4 to 6 p.m., at Bay City City Hall, Room 317, 301 Washington Ave.
The purpose of the Auto Insurance Affordability hearing is to receive testimony from consumers, industry experts, and other stakeholders to address two basic questions:
1) Are Michigan's auto insurance rates affordable?
2) Has Michigan's de-regulation of the insurance industry allowed for adequate oversight of auto insurance rates?
Testimony received at the hearing will inform the Advocate's recommendations for auto insurance reform, to be contained in the Advocate's Annual Report to the Governor. The Executive Order creating the Advocate position requires the Annual Report to contain recommendations for administrative, legislative, or other corrective actions that would positively affect the interests of automobile insurance consumers.

I find my auto insurance rates high but I have no choice because I have no time to search various sites and compare different company policies. Now after reading your post I get idea about rates so I am planning to switch my insurance.
